The Library of the Durgapur Institute of Legal Studies is designed to serve as an essential academic and research facility for students, faculty, and legal professionals. Over the years, it has steadily expanded both its physical and digital collections, supporting a wide range of scholarly activities in the field of law and related disciplines. The library provides access to a curated selection of legal texts, case law reporters, commentaries, law commission reports, journals, and periodicals. It also includes reading materials in subjects such as political science, economics, international relations, and public policy, allowing for interdisciplinary research. To meet the needs of modern learners, the library is equipped with digital infrastructure that supports access to a variety of national and international legal databases, e-journals, and online repositories. Resources such as eBooks, Supreme Court judgments, legislative archives, and research papers are available through the library's digital portals. The environment is designed to promote focused study and research. Spacious reading rooms, computer terminals for research, photocopying and printing services, and staff assistance are provided to ensure an efficient academic experience. .

Timings of Library:-

  • Opening Time : 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Circulation Hours : 9.30 AM To 4.00 PM
  • Reading Room Hours : 9.30 AM To 6.00 PM
  • Do’s in the Library :-

  • Carry your student/library ID card at all times while using the library.
  • Maintain silence to preserve a quiet and focused study environment.
  • Handle books and materials with care to avoid damage.
  • Return borrowed books on time to avoid fines or penalties.
  • Use the library resources responsibly, including digital databases.
  • Keep mobile phones on silent mode while inside the library.
  • Use designated reading and study areas respectfully.
  • Report any loss or damage of library materials to the staff immediately.
  • Use of mobile phone inside class rooms/seminar hall/moot court rooms is strictly prohibited.
  • Don’ts in the Library :-

  • Do not talk or whisper inside the reading rooms.
  • Do not eat, drink, or chew gum in the library premises.
  • Do not write, highlight, or mark in library books.
  • Do not use mobile phones for calls or video viewing inside.
  • Do not rearrange or misplace books on shelves—leave them on the return trolley.
  • Do not bring bags, personal books, or valuables without staff approval.
  • Do not access unauthorized websites or content on library computers.
